Julia brought Reuben home to Wisconsin, where this Florida boy faced a mini polar vortex with temperatures plunging to -16 degrees. Despite the freezing cold, the Kurtzweils welcomed him with hot vegan chili at their Christmas dinner. Safe to say he felt right at home.

The first time Reuben took Julia home to Florida, they watched the sun set over the beach with his family. It was a quiet, beautiful moment that made her feel instantly at home and part of something special.

Early in their relationship, Reuben introduced Julia to his love of skiing, patiently cheering her on as she wobbled down the bunny hill. His gentle coaching, complete with reminders to ‘pizza’ and ‘french fry’, was the first sign to Julia that he was definitely a keeper

The day Julia and Reuben got the keys to their apartment marked the next big step in their relationship. From that moment on, it’s been full steam ahead, building a home, and a life, together.

Reuben and Julia travel throughout all of Arizona. They enjoyed hiking the tallest peak in the state, Mt. Humphrey's, that stands at 12,633 feet above sea level.

One of Reuben and Julia’s favorite ways to adventure together is through backpacking, and their first big trek took them to Ice Lake in the San Juan Mountains. They set up camp beside a secluded alpine lake with crystal-blue waters, a stunning backdrop for the kind of adventures that quickly became their favorite shared pastime.

During their beautiful trip to Guatemala,Reuben and Julia hiked up an active volcano that erupted every 20 minutes. Some might say they got a little too close for comfort, but for them it was just perfect.

Reuben, Julia, and their cat Luna celebrated their first Christmukkah together, blending both of their Christian and Jewish traditions.

Reuben and Julia’s biggest adventure yet was hiking 110 miles around Mont Blanc, crossing three countries, sleeping in mountain huts, and soaking in jaw-dropping alpine views. The only word they have for the experience: unforgettable.

Julia, a born-and-raised Wisconsin cheesehead, was thrilled to bring Reuben to a Packers game this past fall. He bundled up for the chilly day, cheered right alongside her, and has officially been converted...GO PACK GO!
